Consultations:
-
Dead Diseased Hazardous Dying (DDH) Removal Applications and Permitting:
Most Atlanta area municipalities have a tree ordinance and municipal arborist(s); however, they typically require documentation from an ISA Certified Arborist along with conclusive proof of a defect(s) before issuing a permit. Tim has a keen eye and utilizes advanced zoom photography and other techniques to examine trees for defects thoroughly. He often uncovers issues that others overlook.
-
Tree Inventories:
A successful site plan begins and ends with accurate tree data. Mistakes—such as missing a boundary tree, mismeasuring a tree, or missing a DDH—qualified tree—often require the design team to preserve it as part of the site plan. Designing your site around or paying full recompense value for a tree that is a poor candidate for preservation can be costly.
-
Tree Protection and Replacement Plans:
Tim has a strong understanding of local tree protection ordinances in the Atlanta area and possesses extensive experience in design and site planning. His proficiency in AutoCAD enables him to collaborate effectively with land surveyors, architects, landscape architects, and engineers, making him an efficient tree protection planner. He is also knowledgeable about the available tree types and sizes from local farms, and he thoughtfully considers their placement and spacing instead of merely selecting from a municipal recommendation list.
-
Tree Protection Plan Recompense Audit (RA) (Second Look):
Are you excited that your site plan is almost through the review process but not as enthusiastic about the $4,500 tree recompense? While you may have already had your arborist or removal company conduct one or two recompense DDH assessments, Tim often identifies additional qualified trees during his Recompense Audit rounds. Feel free to ask him about his no upfront cost Recompense Audit. He regularly discovers more DDH-qualified trees and believes you should only pay what you truly owe in recompense—nothing more. Doing this could give you more funds for materials such as roofing shingles, concrete, or even new trees!
-
Pre-purchase Consulting and Inspections:
Are you considering that tight lot for your next new construction with two 40+inch oak trees as boundary trees on each side of the buildable area? What about a lot with a stream buffer running down the middle or that corner lot with a double-side setback? There's also that one you've been eyeing that features a street in the front and in the back complete with two front setbacks and mature trees in those setbacks. Instead of discovering potential issues the hard way, why not have Tim come and take a look for a pre-purchase inspection?
-
Site Designs and Consulting
Selective site planning services in Atlanta for projects under 5,000 sq. ft. of new impervious surfaces. Additionally, he consults on larger residential projects over 5,000 sq. ft. in new impervious, particularly those where trees and aesthetics are a high priority. He collaborates with professional engineers on the hydrology portion of these projects.
-
Atlanta Demolition Plans:
Separating the demolition plan from the site plan submission can improve efficiency and prevent delays caused by comments received during the plan review process. Demolition plans not directly associated with a new construction site plan must ensure that no trees are destroyed during the process. Preparing a demolition Tree Protection Plan can sometimes be complex and challenging. Tim can assist with his expertise.
-
Landscape Design:
Tim is currently concentrating on the service offerings mentioned above. While he primarily provides Landscape Design to his existing clients, he assesses projects on an individual basis and only accepts those that he believes are a good fit.
